Enda Duffy is Professor of English at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the author of The Subaltern Ulysses and of The Speed Handbook: Velocity, Pleasure, Modernism, which won the Modernist Studies Association Book Award in 2010. Prof. Duffy is co-editor of Joyce, Benjamin and Magical Urbanism (European Joyce Studies, 2011), and Katherine Mansfield’s Bliss and Other Stories (Edinburgh, 2021). He is editor of an edition of Ulysses and of Katherine Mansfield’s short stories, and author of numerous articles on Joyce, modern Irish literature, and aspects of modernist literature and culture. He is working on two projects, one on emigration and Irish literary history, the other on energy in modern culture.
