Faye Hammill is Professor of English Literature and Canadian Studies at the University of Glasgow. She works on North American and British literature and print culture of the earlier twentieth century. She is author or coauthor of seven monographs, including Ocean Liners and Modern Literature (2026); Modernism’s Print Cultures (2016), with Mark Hussey; Magazines, Travel, and Middlebrow Culture (2015), with Michelle Smith; and Sophistication: A Literary and Cultural History (2010). She is co-editor of Modernism/modernity (2025-29) and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Before coming to Glasgow she taught at the universities of Strathclyde, Cardiff and Liverpool.
