Paul Eggert is Professor Emeritus at Loyola University Chicago and the University of New South Wales, and a fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. He edited works by D. H. Lawrence, Joseph Conrad, and various Australian authors before writing a trilogy of linked monographs: Securing the Past (2009), Biography of a Book (2013), and The Work and the Reader in Literary Studies (2019). He is currently editor of the Charles Harpur Critical Archive (charles-harpur.org), whose first phase was published in 2019. From that project, The Letters of Charles Harpur and His Circle is forthcoming from Sydney University Press.
